Description

Description of Logical Level Converter

The module allows to exchange data between systems that use the most popular levels of voltage: 3.3 V and 5 V. It works in both directions simulatneously. It reduces the 5 V to 3.3 V and rises the 3.3 V to 5 V, at the same time. This feature is useful in bidirectional communication protocols, for example, the SPI in full duplex mode. The converter also operates with lower voltages: 3.3 V at 1.8 V. It has four channels.

The kit includes the goldpin connectors(2.54 mm pitch) for self-soldering. Thanks to them, it is possible to connect the system with thebreadboardor the main module (for example,STM32DiscoveryorArduino) viawires. The size of the converter is 16.1 x 13 mm.

The board has signed pins on both sides.

Example of usage

Converter is easy to use, for correct operation, sufficient is to connect the power supply of two systems that will be converted. A higher voltage (e.g. 5 V) should be connected to the output of the HVcc (high voltage), lower (e.g. 3.3 V, 2.8 V or 1.8 V) to LVcc (low voltage). Grounds are connected to the pins marked with the GND symbol. Logic signals should be led to the corresponding HV1, HV2, HV3, HV4 connectors - higher voltages and respectively LV1, LV2, LV3, LV4 - lower voltages.
