Description

Description: Adafruit Trinket - Mini Microcontroller module - 5V

Miniature module with an AVR Attiny85 microcontroller and is equipped with 8 KB of Flash memory, 5 digital pins, analog input and 2 PWM channels. On board is miniUSB connector, through which the system can be programmed via the Arduino IDE using the cable. After only a few minor changes, the board behaves like a standard Arduino.

The presentation of the Adafruit Trinket board's possibilities.

Choose the right board

In our offer, you will find two versions of the Adafruit Trinket - 3.3 V and 5.0 V. Both modules work in the same way, differing only in the operating voltage of the logic leads and maximum clock frequency. The 3.3 V version runs at a frequency of 8 MHz, 5.0 V and works with 8 MHz and 16 MHz.

Check how to program the Adafruit Trinket using the Arduino IDE or AVRdude!

The collaboration with Arduino

The device can be programmed via the Arduino environment, however, due to the small size of the board, there are some differences:

  • Trinket has no serial port and the serial monitor embedded in the environment of Arduino, will not work.
  • Computers equipped with USB 3.0 ports can have a problem with the recognition of the Trinket bootloader, the solution to this situation is to use an external USB 2.0 hub.
  • The board is working with Windows and Mac OS, at the moment, there are no drivers for Linux.

Specification
  • The AVR Attiny85 microcontroller:
    • Flash memory: 8 KB (2.75 kb of which is occupied by the bootloader)
