Description

Description of product: Sparkfun GPS module ZOE-M8Q - Qwiic

SAM-M8Q is a highly accurate, miniature board with 72-channel GNSS receiver that can receive signals from GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou and Galileo. It communicates using SPI / I2C or UART. It has the Qwiic connector. On board is a rechargeable RTC battery which reduces time-to-first-fix. The u-blox module can be configured through a program called u-center. It has the possibility of setting various functions, such as baud rate, geofencing, update rates, spoofing detection, external interrupts, SBAS/D-GPS, etc. The supply voltage is3.3 V.

The board has three jumpers: I2C is used in the case of using multiple I2C devices. Jumper JP2, after the connection, turns off the power diode. Jumper JP1, after shortening disables the PPS LED.

The pins of the GPS ZOE-M8Q module

The module communicates through I2C / SPI or UART. In addition, the module has the Qwiic connector which allows you to directly connect it tothe Qwiic shields.
