What is an encoder?

An encoder uses a non-contact method of converting angular displacement signals. It is the basis in most automatic devices. It is a kind of motion control sensor which provides feedback to the control system (e.g. Arduino). It allows you to determine, among other things, the position of machine elements, the angle and number of turns of the motor shaft, rotational speed or its direction.

The Gravity series modules have a PH2.0-3P connector, with which you can make quick and convenient connections. This is the so-called Plug&Play design. The Gravity system does not require soldering, and its use is especially appreciated in projects based on prototyping.
