The blade is made of MicroCarbide MC63 powder steel embedded in 2 layers of higher elasticity steel. This laminated, extremely hard core is protected against cracking. Then the blade is subjected to a freeze-hardening process (CRYODUR ® ), which ensures a hardness of approximately 63 on the Rockwell scale, particularly good durability, corrosion resistance and optimal blade flexibility. This steel is hand forged, giving the blade a wonderful traditional Japanese look. The knife gains special sharpness thanks to the Honbazuke sharpening technique.
