Description

Product description: 8x8 flexible matrix - 64 RGB LED - WS2812B individually addressed.

The matrix consists of 64 RGB LEDs, each of which can be controlled separately to display the color from a 24-bit palette. The elements are evenly distributed in eight rows and eight columns. Only one pin of any microcontroller (e.g.Arduino) is needed to operate the module. The system is powered by 5 V, it consumes maximum 60 mA for each diode (at white).

The matrix is made of a flexible material, which enables bending. In our offer there are also matrices with other dimensions available (in the picture a matrix 8 x 32 RGB LED). The product cooperates withNeoPixellibrariesfor Arduino.

The applied communication protocol enables serial connection of the dies. Another one should be connected to the output connector, connecting 5 V, GND and DOUT with DIN respectively. The manufacturer points out that when using four or more matrices, the Arduino Uno RAM may not be sufficient. It should also be noted that each subsequent matrix will require an increase in power supply performance.

Thanks to WS2812B LEDs, each pixel can change its color independently.

Connection .

The device has a 3-pin connector consisting of the following leads:

  • GND- module weight
  • 5 V- supply voltage, current consumption of one diode is maximum 60 mA, which at 256 diodes gives about 15 A.
  • DIN- digital control signal from the microcontroller

Arduino compatible product

The matrix is compatible with Adafruit NeoPixel, so you can usethe Arduino library on GitHub, there are alsoconnection examplesavailable.

Flexible 8x8 - 64 RGB LED - WS2812B individually addressed

Flexible LED matrix. Consists of 64 RGB LEDs in an 8x8 circuit. To control the array, just connect the power supply, ground and control signal from a single pin of the microcontroller, e.g. built in Arduino board. A 5 V DC source is required to power the array. Due to the limited current capacity of Arduino boards, it is recommended to power the master from an external power supply. The matrix can display over 16 million different colors.

Attractive design and easy operation - flexible RGB LED matrix

Building a matrix of LEDs from scratch, although it is time consuming, it can give a great end result. The structure of a typical LED matrix is formed by LEDs and resistors connected in rows and columns. Nevertheless, it must be taken into account that building such a matrix is burdened with a high risk of making mistakes, both at the design and assembly stage. The solution to such a problem is to buy a ready-made RGB LED matrix, which is made of flexible material and allows for spectacular display of multicolored animations.
