Resident Evil™: Operation Raccoon City, a collaboration between Capcom and Vancouver studio Slant 6 Games, will be released this winter. This latest offering will take the series in a completely new direction and offer a style of gameplay not yet seen in the franchise. Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City offers a true team-based third-person shooter experience set in the dark and sinister Resident Evil™ universe. The setting of the Resident Evil universe not only provides a rich backdrop to the action, but offers a unique and exciting triple threat battle. Zombies and bio-organic weapons (BOW) are added to the mix, as players not only compete against the opposing team, but also face this unpredictable third element that could only exist in the twisted Resident Evil universe, creating a totally new style of play and breaking the conventions of traditional team shooters. It´s September 1998 and the action focuses on the ill-fated Raccoon City and the horrible consequences of the deadly T-virus outbreak. To cover it up, Umbrella orders an elite team into Raccoon City to destroy all evidence of the outbreak and eliminate survivors. Meanwhile, the United States Government has quarantined the city and sent its own team of elite soldiers to determine the origin of the mysterious outbreak. Players take on the role of an Umbrella Security Service (USS) soldier, competing alone or in up to four-player co-op in a battle against all forces in play in Raccoon City.
