Fresh, organic bitter melon is almost impossible to find, as it is extremely susceptible to pests and disease. Conventional bitter melon often tests positive for levels of pesticide that exceed the legal limit. These pesticides are very difficult to remove by washing due to the bumpy, grooved exterior of the melon. For these reasons, we are pleased to offer you this organic, dried bitter melon, which is free of pesticides and is shelf-stable.
Serving size: 6-10 slices. Rehydrate by soaking in water for about 15 minutes, and strain. Save this water for use in tea or soup. Use rehydrated slices in omelets, curries, salads, soups, salsas, stir-fries and sautés. Soaking is not required when adding slices to liquid-based foods.
