Though they appear quite ferocious with their sharp, exposed teeth and large size, they are relatively slow-moving, peaceful creatures that don’t pose a significant risk to humans. Unprovoked attacks are very rare, and no recorded fatalities have been attributed to the Sand Tiger. They hunt mostly at night and prey on fish, including other sharks and stingrays.
