Description

Traditional comfort and value, with an anything but traditional design approach, our Journey™ Series sleeping bags are what we grab for globe-trotting adventures on a budget. - Whether you’re sleeping in hostels throughout Europe, backpacking South America or hut camping the Bibbulmun Track in Western Australia, our Journey™ bag’s classic tapered rectangular shape combined with 650+ Loft ULTRA-DRY Down™ provides compressible comfort and warmth. The Journey™ also features extra down overall, THERMOLITE® panels under the foot area to help keep heels and ankles warmer, and a women’s specific cut that is wider at the hip and narrower at the shoulder. - Vertical baffles over the chest section ensure the down insulation cannot migrate or shift to the outside of the bag during sleep, creating cold spots. A side block baffle construction maintains the 60/40 fill ratio, keeping more down on the top of the bag for maximum insulation. - Lightweight fabrics reduce weight and packed bulk while the two-way #5 YKK full length side zip and separate foot zip, allows the bag to open out completely and double as a quilt. The foot zip is perfect for extra ventilation or to provide freedom of movement for your feet. - The 3D side-wall baffle ensures that down can loft to the very edge of the bag, maximising insulation, while the panelled hood draws in tight when needed or lies flat for use in warmer weather. The oversized zipper draft tube uses anti-snag materials to prevent the zipper catching and the soft-touch 20D lining fabric is highly breathable yet also down proof. - Completing the thoughtful design features of this classic down bag, we have included a large internal security pocket, perfect for keeping valuables close or batteries warm. Features: - Women’s specific tapered rectangular shape for perfect balance of space and adaptable warmth - RDS 650+ Loft ULTRA-DRY Down™ offers excellent insulation and compressibility - Extra down overall and THERMOLITE® panels under the foot area for additional warmth - Vertical chest baffles prevent down migration and cold spots - Lightweight fabrics for reduced weight and bulk - Two-way #5 YKK side and separate foot zip allows bag to double as a quilt and provides extra ventilation options - Oversized zip draft tube with anti-snag materials - Large internal security pocket - 3D side-wall baffle maximises down insulation right to the edge of the bag - 3D hood draws in tight when needed - Journey Jo3 has additional neck collar draft tube to seal and trap in all your warmth - Soft touch 20D lining fabric is lightweight and highly breathable, durable 30D nylon shell - Includes Ultra-Sil™ Compression Bag for compact storage Specifications: - Brand: Down & Synthetic - Down: RDS 90/10 Premium Down - Fabric: 30D Nylon Shell - Fill Power: ULTRA-DRY Down® 650+ Loft - Fill Weight: Regular: 700g, Long: 780g - Shape: Tapered Rectangle - Temp Rating: -8°c Comfort, to -15°c lower Limit - Weight: Regular: 1180g, Long: 1290g Technology: Loft: - Loft is the volume for a given weight of down. It is used to describe the quality of down, relating directly to the insulating performance. High loft down is warmer for a given weight than low loft down. Higher lofting down will fill a larger volume of space for a given weight. As a result, less down weight is required to fill each baffle in a sleeping bag. This translates to a lighter sleeping bag. The most common measure of loft is called Fill Power. 850 Fill Power implies that one ounce of this down will loft to fill a volume of 850in3. 650+ Loft Premium Down: - In the Sea to Summit Trek range, 650+Fill Power Premium duck down is a high quality insulation that sets the benchmark for sleeping bags in this class. - Sea to Summit is excited to announce that in 2016 all of our Sleeping Bags will use down that has been sourced and certified by the Responsible Down Standard (RDS). - The RDS is a tool that is going to help shift the entire down and feather industry towards more humane animal rearing and handling practices. Overseen by the internationally lauded Textile exchange, the RDS requires independent, third party assessments of all aspects of animal rearing and handling throughout the entire supply chain process. By only using down that meets the audited requirements of the RDS we can have confidence that each phase of the collection process has been completed with the welfare and ethical treatment of waterfowl in mind. - This means no live plucking and no force feeding, humane living conditions and proper animal handling, from the moment of hatching throughout the life cycle of the waterfowl, and through the entire down supply chain. - In addition, The RDS will be central in helping to increase awareness about what might be happening to waterfowl as their down is harvested. We hope that you, like us, believe that the ethical treatment of animals is important, and can appreciate the importance of the RDS for achieving this in our industry. - THERMOLITE® insulation, designed for ultimate performance, is made from specially engineered fibers to achieve a high CLO value with low weight. THERMOLITE® HL-1 high loft insulation is a fiberfill constructed with a unique 3D crimp of hollow-core and solid fibers, which provide excellent lightweight warmth with superior durability. - The THERMOLITE® insulation lofts up inside the Air Sprung Cells™ to prevent convective heat loss from your warm body to the cold ground. Exkin Platinum® and THERMOLITE® are combined to great effect in each of the Insulated versions of our mats.
