For centuries in traditional Chinese herbalism, barberry bark has been recognized as a great aid in cleansing the gastrointestinal tract. In this case, the bark of barberry roots proves to be a source of alkaloids, the most active of which is berberine. As a dietary supplement, take one capsule two times per day with water.
