Description
The seatpost bushings are available in Aluminum or Thermoplastic, although the latter is a lighter solution, its material characteristics limit the thickness of the ID - OD measurements.
To achieve the thinnest shims, aluminum is used as it is a more robust material.
Machined Aluminum Shim - Machined to very high tolerances from 6082 T6 aluminum and then anodized black to protect from corrosion.
Machined Plastic Shims - Larger size shims are machined to very high tolerances from engineering thermoplastic “fill” UPVC.
This keeps the weight down as the wedges get thicker.
Shim design features can affect weight.
Weights are accurate to the nearest gram.
Shims allow the rider to adjust the inner diameter of a frame for a variety of different sized posts.
