Description
The diode bridges allow simultaneous charging of different batteries from one alternator, without connecting the batteries together.
Even discharged, batteries remain isolated.
Thus, the use of the service battery, for example, can not download the starter battery.
Diode bridges present ARGO reduced voltage drop due to the use of Schottky diodes:
a low intensity, the loss will be about 0.3 V, at full capacity, 0.45 V.
All models are equipped with a compensation diode allowing slightly increase the output voltage of the alternator to compensate for the loss of voltage the diode bridge.
For best results, see our bridges ARGO FET diode voltage drop.
Power input of the alternator.
Some alternators need DC voltage on the B + output to start charging.
Obviously, DC will be present when the alternator is directly connected to the battery.
However, if a diode bridge or a FET separator is inserted, any return voltage / current from the batteries to the B +, and the alternator is not activated is avoided.
The new diode bridges ´´AC´´ have a special input current limiter power the B + when the switch start / stop of the engine is closed.
Even discharged, batteries remain isolated.
