With its 1020 grams, the new TLT8 Expedition is a real lightweight among double-buckle ski touring shoes. In order to bring even more speed, but also comfort and safety to the ascent, the developers have paid special attention to the new Ultra Lock 4.0 closure system. This is easy and intuitive to use, saving time when switching between ascent and descent. The top buckle has two functions: it acts as a lever for the ski walk mechanism while opening the shaft. Just like the second lower buckle, it is finely adjustable and can therefore be optimally adapted to the foot of the touring walker. The system is easy to use even with gloves and scores points with reliability and solid workmanship, but this is not noticeable in the weight - for speed without compromise. Thanks to the shaft rotation of 60 degrees, a natural and energy-saving walking movement is possible even in very steep terrain. The reduced shoe tip, the so-called speed nose, not only allows a weight reduction of 15 percent, but also ensures a 12 percent more efficient rolling behaviour with its pivot point set back by 4 mm. On the downhill, the ski touring shoe can be fixed with a tilt angle of 15 and 18 degrees, thus providing a dynamic position for rapid downhills. For optimal power transmission, the fit of the TLT8 Expedition has also been revised and the shoe sits sporty and tight on the foot with its last width of 103 mm and its athletic fit. Another special feature of the TLT8 Expedition is when it comes to mastering icy level passages or crossings in particularly steep terrain outside the binding: the ski touring shoe is ideal for the use of the new, ultra-light cramp-in crampon, which was developed in cooperation with the mountain sports specialist Salewa.
