The surface has been additionally oxidized, which reduces susceptibility to rust. It is recommended to periodically maintain the pot by lubricating the entire surface with a thin layer of cooking oil.

Cast iron products are not dishwasher safe. They should be washed by hand and then wiped dry to avoid rust.
