The Rigol brand almost took over by storm a large part of the market for specialist measuring equipment for electronics. No wonder - for a price several times lower than that of competitive giants, it offers excellent quality instruments which not only do not give way to much more expensive models, but often significantly exceed their functionality and parameters.

The Rigol DS1202 Z-E 200MHz 2 channel oscilloscope is a great example, confirming this observation. The device offers real time sampling at 1 Gsa/sec (in two-channel mode 500 Msa/sec), a huge sample memory of up to 24 Mpts (!) and a very high speed of up to 30 000 frames/sec.

The large 7-inch, widescreen display with a resolution of 800 x 480 px is also invaluable. Such a large size allowed the manufacturer to place on both vertical sides of the menu screen, displayed at all times during the operation of the oscilloscope. On the left side there is an extensive list of intuitively marked parameters which the oscilloscope measures in automatic mode.

A very valuable advantage of the presented Rigol oscilloscope is the persistence system, which brings to mind analogue oscilloscopes with a memory lamp. The brightness of a given fragment of the image is the greater the more often the voltage graph runs through it. This allows to quickly "catch" single or rarely repeated fragments of the examined signal.
