SHAPTON 50402 waterstone for sharpening, grit 3000
A sensational series of sharpening stones by SHAPTON, where the abrasive layer is combined with a specially prepared layer of tempered glass that stabilizes the entire stone. A full description of the gradation, grain thickness and catalog number is placed on the glass, so you can use the entire abrasive layer without worrying about identifying the stone. The perfect combination of glass and abrasive allows you to use the grinding surface down to the last millimeter without fear of chipping the stone.
The unique structure of Glass Stone stones with very high grain uniformity allows you to sharpen any knife very effectively. This also affects the durability of the stone, which wears out extremely slowly and occasionally requires leveling. Stones from the Glass Stone series are among the hardest on the market.
When using SHAPTON stones for the first time, soak them in water for about 6 minutes. The specially developed "Splash&Go" technology prevents excessive water absorption by the stone. It allows you to spray the stone generously with water when sharpening the knives again, without having to soak them again for a long time.
